Forget the myriad of self-help digests that offer steps towards unlocking your creative inner-self. The recipe for original imagination is disarmingly simple.
Love the creativity = momentum idea. Having been fairly holed up for the winter and getting through plenty of writing I've had piling up for a long time, I've found with life opening up and summer being here that with the more I do, I'm finding myself bursting with more creative inspiration than ever.
Freedom to work on your creative passions should also include freedom to step away from them when you want. I really feel lately like I'm acting on many of my creative urges through physical activity - trips, hikes, surfs, swims, etc that over winter felt like they all had to be expressed through writing. And in turn it's helped my writing improve and become a bit more human as well.
Dunno if you're on instagram but I've made a bit of a move there from twitter too! Finding I'm using it for ideas that don't warrant full articles on this.
Thanks for the comment Gavin. Beautifully said. Yes, I too have found that creativity works through grounded activities where one is in touch with nature. We are so used to living through a mediated virtual world that any connection to raw reality is always welcome.
I'm not as active on Instagram but maybe I should log on again and see what has been happening in that space. I found Twitter useful as a source of inspiration but it can also be mentally draining as I find it offers too many polarised views without much nuance. But then again, that is social media for you.

An entertaining piece, and which also a much needed source of weekend source of rejuvenation or recuperation. Thanks for this article.
Thanks! I enjoy weekend reading myself. Keeps the mind at steady pace before the rigours of the working week begins.
