Couldn't agree more. Misguided institutionalisation can threaten the essence of art.

Absolute favourite Josh! I’m an ardent reader of Tagore’s work- the dissolving of the physical into spiritual. He is one of my most early influences, I devoured his short stories mid-teen years. This is the most eloquent introduction to tagore’s work that I ever read. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you Swarnali for the generous praise! Glad you enjoyed this. There is a profound timelessness to Tagore's work that speaks to the soul of our being. I've not encountered many other writers who can do that so effortlessly. Tagore has indeed showed that there is beauty in transcendence.

This is beautiful. I feel like people overthink and try too hard to find what should/will make them happy when it’s simply the simple things in life, the simple everyday pleasures we experience in the present that we take for granted and don’t recognize their true value.

I share your exact sentiments. There is an eternal value to the happiness we derive from the simple things in life - devoid of agenda and/or expectation, revelling in its own existence by simply being.

What a beautiful thought and a lovely post. I love that line. I want poetry to be the "charioteer" of my soul. Thanks for this one, Josh.

Thanks so much Elizabeth. The image of the 'charioteer' really left an impression on me - I feel it has a natural affinity to the spiritual realm.

"that poetry is indeed the charioteer of one's soul - and we are at it’s helm. All we need to do is recognise it." I keep reading this line. Your sentence and Tagore's writings all unveil an ethereal truth that though we can't exactly see the gong of ultimate truth, we hear the tone of its rings and follow them with our poetry to touch eternity.

You've summed it up beautifully and eloquently Renee. I've always felt that an enriching life is one that dances to the reverberations of an eternal truth - the only sound that truly matters.
